John Beane

CEO, MemComputing, Inc.

An established entrepreneur with a passion for spearheading technological advancements, John A. Beane is the driving force behind MemComputing Inc., having co-founded the company in 2016 alongside esteemed colgues and MemComputing inventors Fabio L. Traversa and Max Di Ventra.

Previously, John co-founded ecoATM Inc., a pioneering San Diego startup where as VP of engineering he played a pivotal role in leading it to an acquisition by Outerwall for $350M in 2013. He was also co-founder of Asteres Inc., a San Diego startup that has since carved its niche in ATM prescription delivery.

Throughout his career, John has held influential executive roles in San Diego and San Francisco, spanning organizations including Zoom Systems, CardioNow Inc., Bridge Medical Inc., and Pyxis Corp., which was acquired by Cardinal Health for $960M.

John started his journey as a software engineer at XonTech Inc., where he was entrusted with top-secret black projects for the US Department of Defense. His work often found him collaborating with expert physicists and mathematicians, a dynamic he mirrors at MemComputing today. With expertise in designing intricate hardware and software systems, John boasts 18 patents.

John's commitment to the technology community extends beyond his business ventures to being an influential figure in various advisory roles and board positions. In 2016, he was appointed as an entrepreneur-in-residence and visiting professor of practice at the University of California, San Diego, where he channeled his industry insights to mentor the next generation, guiding undergraduates, postgrads, and faculty in commercializing technological inventions.
